TOKYO, April 26, 2012 — On April 27, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. starts to offer enhanced Working Folder—a cloud–based online document sharing service with monthly charge—to enable an access from Android™ OS mobile devicesNote1 also with new features that allow its administrators batch display/downloading of operation history.
Launched on December 12, 2011, Working Folder enables users to send, receive or sharing documents at offices or mobile environments, allowing them to use information anytime, anywhere. It contributes to seamless utilization and distribution of documents that are used in group work within an organization or between corporations.
The enhancements of the service will allow its users to access from standard browsers on the Android™ OSNote1 and iOS devicesNote1. In response to customer requests, Working Folder provides accessibility from Android™ OS devices that are expanding in the enterprise market, making the service available to a greater number of mobile device users. Furthermore, Net PrintNote2, Fuji Xerox's existing service compatible with the Android™ OS, allows users to print downloaded files outside of the office, realizing the information sharing while mobile working without location constraints.
Another enhancement enables system administrators to display a list view of operation history of all documents stored in the Working Folder, including who has conducted what operations, from which devices and when. Administrators can also download the information in the CSV file format. This ability to record the access log would serve as a deterrent to unauthorized access or downloading, and supports administrators in their security management tasks in case information leaks occur.
