Solutions for Specific Time-Consuming Tasks Achieved by Linkage With a Multifunction Device
TOKYO, December 6, 2011 — On December 19, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will release the Drawing Differential Detection Box, EDI Link Fax Transmission Box and Mission Critical Link Fax Transmission Box–three business solutions for specific operations based on the Boxes installed with applications that help companies resolve their business issues.
With the Boxes equipped to Fuji Xerox's ApeosPort series of digital multifunction devices, the solutions meet users' specific work requirements leveraging the devices' functions.
To enhance the efficiency and accuracy in drawing revision work, the Drawing Differential Detection Box compares drawings before and after revisions and highlights any changes. In the construction and manufacturing industries, drawing revision work generally requires inefficient visual checks. With this solution, users can simply scan hardcopy drawings—before and after the revision—with a multifunction device or import electronic data into the web browser on a PC, to see detected changes in a different color. The results can be printed out or output as an electronic file, reducing the time it normally takes per A3 drawing in a visual check to just five to 10 minutesNote 1 from around 30 to 40 minutes. It streamlines the work environment and contributes to improving the quality of work by reducing oversight.
The EDI Link Fax Transmission Box, jointly developed with Data Application Co., Ltd., links with ACMS, which holds top shareNote 2 in the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) package market, to exchange purchase order data as well as generate forms and automatically send them by facsimile to a business partner who cannot order through EDI. Thereby, the Box streamlines a series of tasks previously handled manually including drawing up forms and sending faxes. It encourages paperless administration work as it does not require a hardcopy output before fax transmission, as well as reduces transmission errors and running costs. Further, the solution eliminates the need for investment in building an EDI network that also involves clients.
The Mission Critical Link Fax Transmission Box receives data from a mission critical system to generate forms and automatically send them by facsimile to a business partner, also streamlining a series of tasks previously handled manually including drawing up forms and sending faxes. The Box can be applied to a wide variety of business types and areas in addition to purchase order processing.
