Fuji Xerox Launches DocuColor 5151 P for Simple On-Demand Printing and Output of Pre-Print Proofs in the Light Production Color Market

TOKYO, October 23, 2008 — Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will begin sales on November 4, 2008 of DocuColor 5151 P, a high-image-quality full-color digital multifunction device, and PX Print Server U, for the light production color market.

The DocuColor 5151 P realizes cost-effectiveness while achieving high image quality, paper versatility as well as a high-precision image-correction function that are essential for production color printing.

In addition to achieving output quality perfect for simple in-house on-demand print jobs such as internal magazines, sales promotion materials and basic pamphlets at a company’s planning and sales promotion departments, this device provides a color management feature essential in pre-print proofing at design and production houses. DocuColor 5151 P therefore handles a wide range of jobs in the light production color market.

Apart from a 100V power supply that enables it to be used in any equipment environment, the device achieves 51 ppm (A4 long-edge feed) in both color and monochrome, and employs following high technologies enabling high-quality images that have led the production color market to date.

• VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) technology that realizes output resolution of true 2,400dpi.
• HQ digital screen MACS (Micro Accurate Control Screen) technology enabling stable tone reproduction of illustrations, gradation and halftones.
• IReCT (Image Registration Control Technology) for high-precision registration in on-demand printing.

The DocuColor 5151 P employs advanced “PX Print Server P” developed by Fuji Xerox that incorporates a high-precision color management function. This helps satisfy sophisticated requirements in customers’ color printing.

• Handles eight types of color profile commonly used as color reproduction standards, and customers can select their preferred color standard to perform a color simulation.
• Realizes color stability through highly accurate calibration.

Further, the product employs EA-Eco toner with enhanced energy-saving capability. This toner can be fused to paper at a temperature approximately 20 degrees Celsius lower than conventional EA toner, resulting in lower power consumption during fusion.
