Fuji Xerox Launches Low-Priced Compact A4 Monochrome Printer

TOKYO, October 6, 2008 — Aiming to strengthen its line-up of monochrome printers, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will begin sales on October 16, 2008 of DocuPrint 2020, an A4 laser printer that is the lowest priced and the most compact in the company’s DocuPrint series.

The DocuPrint 2020, which realizes an output speed of 21 ppm^Note and first print time of around 10 seconds, retails at 39,800 yen. Although the height of the printer has been kept to roughly 17 centimeters, a paper tray that can supply 250 sheets is equipped as standard.. The compact design makes it ideal for desktops, counters and any other place where space is limited. It also features network interface compatible with IPv6 protocol as standard, making it useful as a shared printer in small offices or as complement to high-speed machines in general offices.

A three-colored LED panel makes it easy to notice error messages when a toner cartridge or drum cartridge needs to be replaced, or when the paper has run out. Maintenance operations are simple since one can change consumables and supply paper from the front of the device.

It is also possible to conserve toner in line with application, such as proof sheet, by selecting the “toner saving” mode on the printer driver. Since the cartridges for the toner and drum are separate, each can be replaced independently as required. This promotes effective use of resources and helps suppress running costs.
